I feel like I'm in an airplane with Buddy Hackett and Micky Rooney from the movie, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World, while the pilot, Jim Bacchus is passed out in the back after a few drinks and the plane is out of control.
That's how these markets feel right now. We're coming in for a landing, but I'll be darned if I know what it's going to look like when it touches, or crashes down.
Gold is at a major decision point.... MAJOR! Greece is being sold out to sea by their leaders, and on the other end, the German people are being sold down the autobahn. Still, I can see a deal getting done here soon to save the Greece bond market and maintain the Euro, but I don't see it lasting past April. The politicians can do anything they like, even if it is mathematically impossible, but there are elections in both Greece and Germany soon after, and the good people of neither country are going to sit still for what their politicians, on behalf of the banksters, are doing to them. No way.
In Greece, they get crazy and nearly makes civil war inevitable. In Germany, they'll just close the door on Merkel and elect a new government, and the courts will support the will of the people, as will Der Spiegle.
The dollar, stockmarket, gold, silver, oil, euro,... are all lined up for a major decision. Certainly the powers that be want stocks higher and gold lower, and unless they decouple from the dollar, they can't have it both ways. If stocks go up, the dollar has to go down, which makes gold, silver, oil, and the euro, go UP!
That means inflation, which means all kinds of trouble. Wealth built upon credit and not real production must terminate at some point. What that point is, I wish I knew I just know that day is coming, and it seems like that day is getting close.
Technically, the charts of, gold, silver, oil, the euro, and even dividend bearing stocks want to go higher. But those are select stocks, as most stocks are severely over-bought, at least in technical terms.
And how about our elections in America? Mitt Romney, after looking like he was rolling to an early wrap of the primary election process ran into the conservative buzz saw. I don't think anyone doubts that Romney can ultimately win the Republican race for the presidency, but nearly every poll shows him loosing to Obama.
In fact, the only Republican candidate who would clearly beat Obama is Ron Paul, and he will have a tough time winning the primary unless markets start running into trouble. But that could happen.
I don't know what to do other than wait for Buddy Hackett to land the plane, and then we'll see if its in the ditch, the restaurant, or on the runway. All I do know, is Buddy, Micky, and Jim are running out of fuel.
